Designing efficient electrocatalytic structures requires reliable guidelines. For this purpose, experimental approaches for the characterization of model electrodes in operando conditions are valuable. Reporting Joule, Agnoli et al. showcase determination site-specific reaction onset potentials and Tafel slopes by using electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy.
